Apartment
life in Upper West Side
The Upper West Side attracts an upscale but
less restrained community. It has been luring intellectuals
since the first large buildings were constructed near the
turn of the 20th century.
Brownstones and pre-WW II apartment buildings
offer elegant rental options. Park-side rentals are as expensive
as those on 5th Avenue, across the park. More adventurous,
budget-conscious renters should look north of 96th Street
along Upper Broadway.
